libfreeipmi16 software package provides GNU IPMI - libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libfreeipmi16
libfreeipmi16 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libfreeipmi16 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libfreeipmi16 *
You will get with libfreeipmi16 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
